The story

Every pair of lungs is different, and in ventilation what helps one patient may injure another. Ebenbuild rebuilds a patient's lungs in 3D from a routine CT scan, airways and damage included, then tests combinations of ventilator settings on that copy and maps how each region would respond. A flight simulator for breathing, spun out of years of research at the Technical University of Munich.

Three things to know

  1. A ventilator setting that helps one patient can harm another.

  2. A digital twin is built from a CT scan the hospital already has.

  3. Settings are tested on the copy first, so the team sees a map before they act.
